Annual Carol Service

Ballynahinch Congregational Church held its annual Carol Service in the Sanctuary on the Sunday afternoon of 17th December 2017. Rev Victor Neill conducted the service and thanked all for their attendance with a special welcome being given to visiting friends.

The Church Choir sang two carols with Bible readings by Rosemary Cowan, John McCoubrey, Robbie Douglas, Rachael Broome, Pauline Broome and Jimmy McClenaghan.

The congregation enjoyed a contribution in song and words from the boys and girls of the Sunday School which explained the meaning of Christmas. Victoria Megarry led the children and the congregation in song.

Mrs Maisie McCully rendered a poem with Just Men (David Vance, Jim Bell, Richard Payne, Jim Murray, Robert Wilson, Harry Bowles, Trevor Crothers and Tom Williamson) singing two very thoughtful songs of praise.

The service concluded with a short epilogue delivered by Rev Victor with the title “The Real Star of Christmas.”

Many thanks are due to Mrs Emily Douglas (piano) and Mrs Elsie Crothers (organ) and to all who took part at this well attended service. Special thanks are also due to the ladies of the Congregation who provided and served tea/coffee and mince pies/shortbread in the Memorial Hall at the end of the service.

The offering was lifted for the Barnabus Fund to provide aid to the persecuted Church in many parts of the World.
