Our visiting speaker at this year’s harvest services was Mr Trevor Morrow, representative of Slavic Gospel Association (SGA).

Our Memorial Hall was tastefully decorated by the Ladies and Men of the church. The Minister of the church, Rev. Victor Neill, chaired both services.

In the morning service, Trevor gave a short audio visual presentation of the work of SGA. In this their 75th Anniversary year, he focused on 2 areas of their work - training workers and supporting workers who are serving the Lord in their own lands. Thus, removing the need for language and cultural training of non-indigenous workers.

Trevor read Psalm 145 and for his text took Psalm 136, verse 1: "O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever."

Under the heading GOD IS FAITHFUL ALWAYS in Psalm 145 we note –

(A) The Lord is Great - verse 3. There is no other God like unto Him.

(B) The Lord is Good - verses 7 & 9 The Lords goodness extends to everyone.

(C) The Lord is Generous - verse 8. The Lord is full of compassion, is caring and committed.

GOD IS FAITHFUL ALWAYS; GOD IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL.

Verse 18: He is always near when we call. Verse 19: He will hear their cry, and will save them. You need Gods salvation, call upon Him now.

The choir sang two pieces, I sing the mighty power of God, and Sowing and Reaping.

The evening service audio focused on two further areas of the work. Namely the great outreach from the publishing department with thousands of Bibles being printed and distributed throughout the Slavic lands. Humanitarian aid is also an important aspect of the work and is much appreciated by those in war-torn countries whose circumstances are very difficult.

Trevor’s title for the evening message was, DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING. Reading from Philippians chapter 4 he explained that the word worry originally meant to be pulled in different directions, not knowing which way to go.

(A) God will provide. Verses 10-14 - Paul had learnt the secret of trusting God for all his needs.

(B) God will provide. Verse 11 - God will provide at just the right time because He knows and He cares. He will supply our needs, not our wants.

(C) God will provide. Verse 15-18 - God will provide in just the right way. The church at Philippi was the only church that sent him gifts by the hand of Epaphroditus. God’s people helping God’s Apostle.

The verse of a hymn puts it this way: “Through it all, through it all. I’ve learned to trust in Jesus; I’ve learned to trust in God. Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to depend upon His word.”

We trust God for His salvation; therefore, we can trust him for everything. He knows, He cares.

Harvest supper and a time of fellowship was enjoyed by all at the close of the evening service.
