The work was founded in 1993 on a 300 acre site near Tabora, by the late Gordon McCormick and his wife Phyllis.

It was good to renew fellowship with John and Pauline Tuff who have been working with the mission now for the past 6 years. They are responsible for the children’s home which cares at present for 29 children, most of whom were abandoned at birth or orphaned. The latest arrival was Jabari, who was found abandoned as a little new born in a derelict house and after 8 days in hospital was brought to the home. Like all the other little ones he is SPECIAL not only to John and Pauline but also to the Lord. This was the thought John shared with us from Deuteronomy Chapter 7 verse 6. We are all special to the Lord.

A new purpose built building has just been completed for the older children, giving them separate dormitory accommodation from the babies. They are really enjoying the extra space and their own bunk beds, built by John. Nine of these older children have now started school in the locality, but there is a great need for a teacher in the Home.

John and Pauline are always encouraged by teams and individuals who go out to help with maintenance on the site, there is always much to do. A boundary fence project has just been completed. It has been a real answer to prayer that a new water pipe line from Lake Victoria to Tabora and other towns is being laid and runs through the land just inside the boundary of the Children’s Home. This will replace the inconsistent supply from their own existing man made reservoir. Application has been made to the relevant authority for permission to connect to this line.

It is always difficult to say good bye to children who are being adopted, and this had been the case for 2 children recently, involving many meetings with the relevant authorities over a 9 month period.

The little church on the Campus is growing and under the leadership of Jerry and Rachel, 8 believers were recently baptised and added to the church.

We pray that John and Pauline will be encouraged as they continue their deputation and make preparation to return to Kazima Children’s Home early in June.
